Nabeel Zuberi:
Professional Experience: I have worked at Citibank and then at GE for a total of seven years. I am from Pakistan and am currently working at GE doing systems analysis and design.
Education: I have done my Bachelor’s from The University of Houston and am almost halfway done for my MS from NYU. This is my 4th course at NYU and my first with Docent. The rest were using Lotus.
Interests: Watching Cricket & reading about cars
Carolyn Goldman
Professional experience: JPMorgan Chase : Consumer Database Marketing & Data Mining. Currently responsible for management of a database marketing team.
Prior experience includes: Citigroup Global Consumer Bank -Data Mining (domestic and emerging markets). CitiBank North America & Europe Credit Cards - Data Warehouse (business project manager), Marketing (new product development) & Credit Policy (credit risk analysis and acquisitions). This is my fourth class and is still amazed that we can take online classes in this ever-changing technological world.
Professional Bio: I have been it the IT industry for 18 years. I currently work for Unilever as a Project Manager for converting PeopleSoft 7.5 to version 8.3. I manage a team of 20 Business Analyst. Seven are consultants.
I have worked for various corporations like NYNEX, Pepsi Cola, IBM, MTA and Unilever. In my current position, I see first hand the organizational goals and upcoming Projects. I also see the kinds of decisions that Management and the Organization make. As a project manager I have to always know the goals and timeline of each project. Deliverables are the key to the organizations.
I have a BS in Computer Science and Information Systems from Pace University. I have three Certificates programs from NYU. These include Oracle DBA, Visual Basic and Visual C++. I am currently working towards my MS in Information System and Management.
After reading the introduction to this class in the bulletin, I know that I would personally gain a lot from this course, especially given that in my career I am forced to keep up with upcoming projects for the organizations. Top 10% of the classPersonal Bio: I was born in Connecticut but went back to India at the age of 2. I was raised in India, then came back to US about four years ago. I am 30, married, with a baby who is 11 months old who keeps me on my toes for the time that I am at home. This also happens to be my last course before I graduate.

Personal Bio: I am 39 years old and live in Brooklyn New York. I do not smoke. I drink a glass of wine every day with my dinner. I love anything to do with Sinatra and his music which includes over 400 cd's; 120 videos..etc. (saw him in concert 76 times).
I travel to Italy every year and expect to purchase a home there this year when I return in November.
I have been working at the same firm for nearly 17 years (I receive 7 weeks vacation for that service).
Professional Biography: 1988 – present TIAA-CREF New York, New York investment analyst, tiaa investments. Analyzes results on specific portions of the investment portfolio (i.e., gains & losses, portfolio quality, securities with equity features, problem loans, foreclosures, etc.). These analyses and comparisons are used as benchmarks to measure tiaa performance versus its competitors.
Monitors and analyzes TIAA’s annual investment program (which is all investable funds in a given year), by investment type, region, industry, property type and quality. Analyzes TIAA’s results versus the life industry (acli), life insurance universe, various pension funds and pension fund universes, best’s and commercial banks (for problem loans). These comparisons are used as benchmarks to measure TIAA performance against its competitors’ performance or against internal standards. also analyzes investment area budget expenses against forecasted expense levels, which includes developing reports to aid divisional expense control.
Analyzes and presents investment results, operational results, financial forecasts and investment statistics to senior management and/or investment committee to help set investment strategies and make investment decisions. Trained assistant investment analysts and investment specialists on investment area procedures; including computer training, spreadsheet development, etc. Oral presentations at divisional staff meetings on portfolio activity or other investment-related topics
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of finance, accounting and economics. good understanding of investment terminology and fixed income instruments (i.e., bonds, mortgage, real estate). Analytical skills, in preparing financial analyses and make recommendations.
Strong pc skills are required in order to prepare worksheets (lotus, ms excel), graphics (graphwriter, freelance) and word processing documents (wordperfect, ms word).
Strong organizational skills, as much information (data, reports, etc.) needs to be filed, maintained and presented in an organized manner.
Excellent communication and writing skills in producing written analyses and effective oral presentations.
Knowledge of tiaa investments policies and procedures, and understanding of tiaa-cref’s organizational structure and overall objective.
